The story of the evolution of the horse is really much more complex than what has been shown here, with many branches on the bush. There were many other species of horses, sometimes 12-15 different species of horses living at a time! There is also the story of horse evolution in the rest of the world throughout Asia, Europe and Africa. You may want to set out a quest for yourself to learn more about the other species of horses and what they were like. Or you may wish to learn more about horse evolution in other parts of the world. You can also do a search for natural history museums throughout the world to see what displays on horses they may have. It would be great fun to visit one of these very interesting displays at a museum!
