Research Program Overview
Funding Industry Research
Nestled in the heart of horse country in the province of Ontario, Equine Guelph is the horse owners’ Centre at the University of Guelph which is also home to the world-renowned Ontario Veterinary College – the oldest veterinary college in North America.
Equine Guelph is where academia, industry and government meet – a place where all stakeholders sit around one table and decide which research will help horses the most. Research projects, led by top University of Guelph and Ontario Veterinary College researchers, are opening doors to discoveries that will help horses in the areas of disease and injury prevention, diagnosis and treatment of life-altering diseases and injuries.
Communicating Industry Research
These important research findings are then communicated by Equine Guelph to the global scientific communities and equine industry through its communications and education programs.
Equine Guelph Research Program Mission Statement
To promote the health and welfare of horses in Ontario by conducting research into diseases and common problems in horses and by communicating effectively the findings to the scientific communities and equine industry.
